About

Nia C. Wahl joined Werksman Jackson & Quinn as a law clerk, where she obtained first-hand experience and knowledge in the area of criminal defense with a focus on Title IX. Since being admitted to the Bar, Ms. Wahl has continued her focus on Title IX. Ms. Wahl also has several years of experience in civil litigation and personal injury law.

Ms. Wahl received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California at Los Angeles. During her time at UCLA, Ms. Wahl was a Council Aide for the City of Los Angeles and an intern for the California State Senate. Ms. Wahl graduated with her Juris Doctorate from Southwestern Law School. At Southwestern, Ms. Wahl was a certified legal advocate for the Children’s Rights Clinic and vigorously fought for her clients to ensure they received all the support and accommodations to succeed in their academics. The clinic was one of Ms. Wahl’s most valuable experiences during her time in law school, as it gave her hands-on experience with clients and allowed her to provide a voice for those who were most vulnerable.

Ms. Wahl is a member of the Beverly Hills Bar Association and has been elected to serve as the Secretary for the Board of the Barristers Young Attorneys Section. She is also a member of the Philippine American Bar Association and Los Angeles County Bar Association.

Recent Case Results

  • Allegations Unsubstantiated (Title IX): University conducted an investigation and hearing into allegations of dating violence and sexual harassment. Nia advised the client throughout the live hearing which included cross-examination of multiple witnesses. The hearing resulted in the allegation not being sustained and the client was found to not have violated the University’s policies.
  • Allegations Unsubstantiated (Title IX): University conducted an investigation into several allegations of sexual harassment and sexual exploitation against client. Nia advised the client throughout the investigation and live hearing which included cross-examination. It was found, based on a preponderance of evidence, that only one out of several allegations were substantiated. Client received minimal sanctions upon submitting a mitigation statement.
  • Allegations Unsubstantiated (Title IX): University conducted an investigation into allegations of sexual assault against client. Nia advised the client throughout the live hearing which included cross-examination of parties and witnesses. The hearing resulted in the allegations not being sustained and Client was found to not have violated the University’s policies.
  • Allegations Unsubstantiated (Title IX): School district conducted an investigation into multiple allegations of sexual assault against client. Nia advised the client throughout the investigation process in which all allegations were not sustained.
  • Appeal Granted (Title IX): College conducted an investigation and hearing into allegations of sexual assault against client. After a hearing was conducted, the client was dismissed from the college. Nia represented the client during the appeals process arguing that the college did not meaningfully consider evidence and failed to provide the client a meaningful opportunity to defend themselves. The appeal was granted, allowing the client to be readmitted to the college.
